A Small Boutique Hotel in Clubview
Wherever they may be, boutique hotels are exclusive and unique. It’s highly unlikely that you’ll find any two which are the same. One of the distinguishing aspects of all such hostelries lies in each one’s upmarket individuality, which applies to its location, interior style and exterior settings, services, amenities, architecture, design, furnishings, décor, layout, and privacy afforded to guests.
Such exclusive elements are also prerequisites in the rating criteria of the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA), the body tasked with this country’s evaluation and grading of premises that offer accommodation to paying guests. Locally and abroad, a hotel’s grading is indicated by its number of stars, awarded on a scale from one to five. The more stars a hotel has, the more upscale it’ll be, catering for an ever more discerning clientele.
Boutique hotels have a limited number of rooms and guest suites, generally fewer than 100. Modern, large establishments tend to belong to big, monopolistic hotel chains, which provide relatively uniform accommodation and services.
Small Corner of the Cape
Our award-winning boutique hotel goes by the name of Kleinkaap, an Afrikaans word meaning “little Cape” or “small Cape” – an apt description of Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel, which brings a small corner of the glorious Cape to the Centurion suburb of Clubview – our lush, leafy and tranquil location.
The original Cape Dutch homestead and estate date back some 100 years, but the erstwhile home has been faithfully restored to echo its proud origin and heritage. All the new extensions also conform to the same architectural style and standards – to the extent that the actual original number of lintels was counted and recorded.
The Next Lintel
When our superb restaurant was added, this extension called for another lintel – the 16th. In proud recognition of another significant lintel, our restaurant was named the 16th Lintel, now a favoured fine-dining destination, as befits a 4-star boutique establishment.
At the 16th Lintel, our meals include seasonal produce from our own organic herb and vegetable garden, freshly harvested to enhance our culinary speciality dishes. “Garden to Cuisine” is our philosophy, since we strive to make good food great at the 16th Lintel, much to the delight of our discerning diners and their equally distinguished palates.
Many of our dishes, created by our talented chef, display distinctive South African character; in keeping with our tradition and heritage. Our à la carte menu includes fare which stars ostrich carpaccio, heirloom tomato tart, apple glazed pork belly, lamb shank, steak, venison, Hertzoggies, Amarula cheesecake, and many more mouth-watering masterpieces.
When next in Centurion, book your accommodation, conference, special occasion celebration, or wedding at Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel, or make a reservation for a delicious dining experience. We’re sure that you’ll return for more, again and again.
